WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO: This is a bit of a twist on our normal mission, but a wonderful holiday story. We want to make a difference! A small Jewish coffee shop in New York, owned by a family that lost friends in Israel on October 7th, wanted to show support for hostages and put Israeli flags in his shop’s windows. His barista staff organized a boycott to protest The Star of David in his windows and him being Jewish, every single employee walked out. For a small cafe, losing a couple of days income would put him out of business. It would have destroyed him and his family. Just for his being Jewish and showing modest support for people he actually knew lost their lives.

The story ran in news, local doctors, lawyers’ customers flocked to the Café & began working as baristas for free to help him. Team Wildlife Legacy couldn’t fly up there. So, several of us in club pitched money together and sent him $1,000.00 (this was extra we donated up and above our normal donations). People showed up that had never patronized the shop before. The lines twisted around the block in support of the café owner. Our donation helped tide him over. His beautiful letter of thanks is on the back of this Christmas letter. Prayers at Christmas time for all innocents that lost their lives, or are still separated from their loved ones. And always for our servicemen in harm’s way. If you’re in New York drop by, have some coffee & say hi.
